Compliment

A Master of Earth Sciences, graduate of the University of Warsaw and of the Direction of Photography and Television Production Department at the National Film School in Lodz.
In the 1970s, he took part in the Polish avant-garde movement in film, and in the 80s and 90s, he performed his activities and projections in the public space. In the 1980s and 90s, he ran the Art Hotel gallery in Lodz, realizing a series of exhibitions at many centres in Europe, including the Slovakian National Gallery in Bratislava, Kunstwerk in Berlin, and Hotel de Ville in Brussels. Over the last 30 years, screenings of his videos and work have been organized at places like the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, where he represented Poland at the Biennale of the Young, and he has taken part in large exhibitions of Polish and European art, including at the Centre Pompidou, Stedelijk Museum and Galeria de Appel in Amsterdam, Tate Gallery in London, and many individual exhibitions in Poland and around the world. He was a participant in the first video festivals in the Hague, Bilbao and many others. His works figure among the collections of the Art Museum in Lodz, Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, Cinema Museum in Lodz and of private collections. He received scholarships from the Ministries of Culture of Poland and France, as well as from the Mayor and Voivode of Warsaw and Lodz, respectively.
