Schlabs produced his photographs by interfering with the light-sensitive material in a variety of ways, for example, by placing various objects or semi-transparent materials of various shapes on them. However, the effects of these actions are just afterimages of the objects, abstractions which were ultimately accommodated by the flat surface of the photographic paper.
Many of his photograms can be found in well-known collections in Poland and other countries, including Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Fotograf, malarz, a w drugiej połowie lat 50. także organizator wystaw. Członek Poznańskiego Towarzystwa Fotograficznego od 1953, ZPAF od 1962 i ZPAP od 1963. W 1949 roku ukończył Politechnikę Poznańską. Fotografował od początku lat 50. w konwencji realizmu socjalistycznego, zbliżając się do estetyki piktoralnej lub dokumentaryzmu, w którym wykonał pierwsze ważne prace. W 2002 roku miał wielką retrospektywną wystawę, z towarzyszącym jej albumem w poznańskim Arsenale.

An extra commission fee of 18% is charged by the organiser on the hammer price. The fee is also charged on any post-auction sale.
