Even though most of his works incline towards abstract motifs, Berdyszak addresses concrete issues, including such notions as emptiness and absence. As he explained to Elżbieta Dzikowska, "emptiness will always be intriguing. Everyone eagerly peeks into all sorts of holes, knowing that there is nothing inside them. He claimed that absence (...) may be a specific state of emptiness that can be accidental or caused by us, as well as by situations or events" (interview published in the book Artists Talk, Rosikon Press, 2011).
